Interesting Model Poses.
I wanted to look at magazines for source material rather than resort to the internet so i think this will be quite an interesting blog post. I wanted to look at the more avant Guard side to fashion and the ways in which models can portray their personality through head and body shots while wearing high fashion that often detracts from the models features.

I chose these two images from this particular shoot with Steven Klein because I like the strong and angular facial expressions mixed with the relaxed pose in the right picture and the almost BDSM inspired pose of the left. I like how comfortable Kendall looks in these images as she brings a no fear approach to prosthetic modelling. I also like the styling of her clothes being ripped and emphasising the deviation of social and structural norms within clothing and the portrayal of women.

I love this image because its so different from anything I have seen before. From the background colour to the pose that the model is holding. I think it has a strange and awkward elegance to it that is shown in the pose accompanied by the drapery and texture of the clothing. The model's over bite has a new and distinct look that you don't normally see in fashion photography and I quite like the idea of this awkward elegance that is portrayed. I also like the fact she has no hair to hide her face and the fact that her highlight can be seen from so far away. The backless crochet shawl is very interesting as well I like that you can see all the muscle tone and bone indentations in her back.

I chose this image and pose because it is very static. There is little movement but still her facial expression and the lighting give off so much power and strength. Her limbs are close to her torso and the clothes just hang there but there is this enigmatic feel about this picture. The viewers eyes travel across the entirety of the image and thats what I would want my images to look like. The clothing has a texture and colour that are very striking but still her facial expression reigns over the whole images creating an incredible need to look at the picture for a long time. I would also like to experiment with over head lighting as I feel like that would create power in my images. especially when photographing a man.
